Should Dungeon and Polyheadron be in the same magazine

First Post
I just have a question for all of you. How many of you like the fact the Dungeon and Polyhedron are in the same magazine? When this first occured I was perfectly okay with it. However, over the last year I have noticed that there were less adventures in the Dungeon side and it's been frustrating me. I still like Dungeon Mag a whole lot and think the adventures are definitely worth the cost. But I'd rather see more moduals and less or no Polyhedron.

Stormos, you need to remember that now Dungeon comes monthly instead of bimonthly. I personally love the fact that they're combined, and I buy Dungeon as much (or more) for the minigames as for the adventures.

I have never cared for the Polyhedron section in Dungeon magazine. I believe that Dungeon Magazine should only provide content that is useful in running a Dungeons & Dragons game, and that Polyhedron should be its own publication as it was in the past. One of the reasons that I let my subscription end without renewing it is due to the fact that I rarely found anything of interest (or useful for that matter) in the Polyhedron section of Dungeon Magazine. Why should I pay for content that I will never use?

Polyhedron

Actually Pulp Heroes in Polyhedron was the reason I picked up the Dungeon/Polyhedron and I could care less about Dungeon (I rarely used canned adventures). I really have to fight to buy off month Polyhedrons without the minigames (and I have loved everyone). Now the minigames are half the size they used to be before they went monthly (since they dominated an entire Poly issue before, now only every other month has a minigame and have to still share space with other articles). As for whether or not to they should be combined, I have to consider the readership. Dragon outsells the combined Dungeon/Polyhedron and it is not a major magazine. Splitting the two would cause the readerships to be so small that both would eventually disappear. So I am willing to put up with Dungeon just to get my minigames. However this may change in the future if they continue printing the poor filler issues.

I like Poly in Dungeon, and get more use out of that section as a d20 Modern player.

With that said, I'd rather see a third, separate "official" d20 Modern/d20 Standard magazine, be that Polyhedron or some new title.

Edit: And I'd still buy Dungeon if it were a separate entity, because I get a lot of ideas, monsters, maps etc. that I can use in other games.

Edit 2: What I really want is a third magazine that's a little bit Dungeon (adventures), a little bit Dragon (new rules etc.), and a lot of Polyhedron, all for d20 Modern.

Paizo owns them, they "should" be however paizo wants them to be.

Answer to your second question is: No, I do not like it. So I do not spend my money on it. Simple. It is either worth it to you or not. There is no foul in offering a product that someone does not want. There is also no foul in ceasing to offer a product that someone does want.

Just like Psion, ideally i'd like it to be two seperate magazines. However, I do not feel short-changed by the presence of Poly. In fact, I discovered that I can enjoy it, especially if they continue publishing d20 material for third party publications, like they did with the excellent Freeport adventure.

Here's to the continuation !;)

Well, half of it comes monthly now, instead of all of it bimonthly before.
And now the full price comes every month.

Ideally, no.
In interests of continued existence of the (both) magazine(s), yes.
Yes - pretty much exactly what I was going to say.

I would like Poly away and gone from Dungeon. However, if Poly is what's needed to keep Dungeon publishing adventures, then I'll grudgingly accept it. (And now that the mini-games have been decreased and we're getting those "Global Positioning" maps and gazeteer cities, I'm actually getting a bit impressed with Poly.)
