No more Forgotten Realms or generic adventures thanks to Eric Mona's personal grudge against FR. It's sad that one person's immaturity has ruined what used to be a great magazine.
Pardon? I've no grudge against the Forgotten Realms. Indeed, I've written more than a dozen Forgotten Realms scenarios for the RPGA Network and I co-wrote "Faiths & Pantheons" a little over a year ago. I would happily contribute to another Realms product in the future, if invited.
When I took over the magazine, I inherited a ready-purchased submissions pile that simply didn't include a lot of Forgotten Realms material. We printed an FR adventure in issue #103 (Forest of Blood) and have another in #113 (Practical Magic). The former was something that was already purchased when I got here. The latter is an adventure we specifically solicited, because no one on my staff was comfortable going 10 issues without an FR adventure.
It's my opinion that all of the "core" adventures (whether nominally set in Greyhawk or not) are easily adaptable to the Forgotten Realms. One of the Adventure Path Story Hours here on EN World details a Shackled City campaign adapted to the Realms, so I'm glad to see that others are able to convert adventures with little difficulty.
We _will_ be running more Forgotten Realms adventures in the future. I'm currently in the process of planning a major FR "event" (possibly a multi-adventure series) written by folks FR fans will recognize.
I've spent most of the last several months getting my arms around how to run the magazine in general and then how to relaunch it along the lines announced Friday. That's limited me, somewhat, from planning really spectacular Forgotten Realms content, but that content is most certainly coming down the road.
