D&D 5E Should Power Word spells be a bonus action?

Given the already existing rules against combining bonus action spells with others, I'm not seeing it as a big deal, and in fact only seems to prevent abuse with action surge.

The word itself doesn't take much time to say. Mustering all your weave-warping wizardry to say such a powerful word, however, takes a full action. Or perhaps, you say it easily, but twanging the Weave that hard causes side effects which cost you a full action of recovery before you can do anything else.

When you cast a bonus action spell the only other spell you can cast in the round is a cantrip. So for pure casters, changing a spell to a bonus action usually isn't much of a benefit.
