Should the DM accommodate characters, or characters accommodate DMs?

IMO, what doesn't work very well is dumping it into the player's lap and then not taking any action to accomodate that player at all.

Buh? What?

... what is it with this thread and people totally misreading what I'm saying? Sheesh.

Why on earth would you think that that specific line specifically refers to you or to how you run your games? I made a general statement of opinion that applies to pretty much anyone. Dumping the problem off on the players is a bad idea, IMO.

Why did you automatically apply that to yourself? It certainly wasn't meant that way.

Funny how the same thing happens in every one of these threads you participate in, Hussar. You might just be the common factor.

Well, I think it tends to be funnier that it's always the same faces who continually misconstrue what I'm saying. Granted, I don't see that so much anymore having discovered the joys of the Ignore User feature.

That's why this one surprised me.

I'll take you at your word that it wasn't meant toward me or what I was saying. I think it might have helped if you had made clear in your post where your response to me ended and your general statement began. Something like:

Hussar to Ghost - Words.

-----

Hussar - General Statement.

As is, it does look like you were addressing me and what I wrote specifically. All's cool. :)

Heh. Rereading what I said, Yeah, I can see that. Cool beans. Was totally meant to go from specific to general. My bad.
