Showdown in the Forgotten Ruins

*Continuing forward through twisting branching passageways, they come across what seems to be a dead-end, containing the corpse of a man in armour. However, no sooner have the front ranks turned that corner than Rhys is attacked from behind and struck by both crystalline tendrils and a back claw rake.*

(OOC: 27 Damage to Rhys. Hmm, if he had a little more AC, that would have been only 10 Damage--those were some spectacularly bad rolls for the enemy

Okay, it looks like this time Tandi, Rillian, Anton, Meliana, and Rhys all beat the critter in initiative. Of course, Rhys's turn will likely be spent bleeding. I'll have Meliana go after the others post their actions)

Rhys goes down in a heap and as he loses consciousness he mumbles that worked well. He will bleed all over the floor in an attempt to make the crystalline creature slip. ooc: Ha take that.

Eskon will move forward and attempt an attack with a swing of his greatsword

Tandi hears the attacks in the back of line again. I knew it. Bounding through and past her companions, she reaches out to grab the creature and hold it in place.

40ft movement ftw! Anyway, Tandi is going to attempt to get to the creature and grapple it, assuming she can reach it that is...

*Tandi takes the chance and darts forward easily reaching the foe but struck by a tentacle on the way in. She manages to get her arms around the creature, and it seems she is on the verge of grappling it, but it is strong--her fingers turn white and her muscles strain until they feel like they are about to rip as she fights an even battle to hold onto the creature, but just as it seems she is about to win, it exerts one final burst of strength and the pain is too much, her grip simply collapses.*

(OOC: Wow, it was a tie on the initial rolls! But then Tandi lost. So close though. Tandi takes 9 Damage from the AoO, but now it has no more of those left)

That AoO was from movement, correct? Because it has reach or somesuch... Knew I forgot to say tumbled...
