Signing up for DDI to download all the eZines - plus Terminating subs

My (yearly) subscription expired 'just-in-time'. It officially ended on January 5th, but thanks to the grace period, I've managed to download the last two magazine issues.
I also took the time to advance most of my characters by another 5 levels, so I won't need the character builder for a while.

That leaves the compendium. However, since I own almost every 4e book in printing, I can make do with the free version.

I'm also not DMing at the moment, so there's no incentive to reactivate my sub.

A question for those who remember subbing to DDI: Did you have to activate your sub thru your email after paying on the WotC site? I subbed yesterday (or at least I thought I did), but I can't access the mags. I'm not sure if it's because WotC hasn't billed my card yet, or because I can't log in to my email.

(I made the mistake of using an old WotC account; I haven't used the associated email account in years. Oddly, the problem is the ing security question, rather than the password. *Grrr*)

I resubcribed in October using an email address I no longer have access to but there was obviously no activation required because I never saw the confirming email. But that's different to a new subscription and that I cannot recall.

I would add that I have found it common in three countries for it to take multiple attempts to sign in on the WotC site. And even after signing in on one page, opening a link with, say, a new issue of Dungeon could result in being told to sign in again with multiple sign in attempts - sometimes across three different browsers - required before gaining access.

Interesting, and you're in the USA.

This used to happen to me when I was living in Singapore and Australia so I know it's not simply a function in living in a particularly Third World part of a Third World nation.

I've reported it a couple of times but, as you would expect from WotC, I have never had a reply.
