Silver Age Sentinels vs The Authority

I'm looking to flush out my RPG collection again and want to retain a supers RPG. I've narrowed it down to these two, though I've only played both a couple of times and have never experimented with using either as a generic system (as many folks have done with M&M). I need the opinions of people who have experience (or more experience than me) with both systems to tell me which, in their opinion, is the more versatile of the two and has fewer 'wrinkles' to smooth out. Thanks!

[Edit: I'm talking about the Tri-Stat version of SAS. Reviews convinced me that the d20 version was a dud.]
