Simple question, disarm with a mighty whip

What size is a mighty whip?

Is it small like a normal whip?

In the description it says

A mighty whip or mighty whip dagger is made with especially heavy material that allows a strong character to take advantage of an above-average strength score.

That implies that it is medium, but it does not say specific.

It is small sized, just like a normal whip otherwise a small sized character would not be able to use it.

I've always thought the whip's +2 bonus description is silly and almost comically uninformative.

You get a +2 bonus.
Oh, but don't forget the -4 penalty! (If the whip is considered small)

You'd think they'd put the relevant text in the description.
It's further exacerbated by the important fact that in S&F, the whip is not put in ANY size category.
They explicitly made a "Special" size category for it, which would lead me to believe that the relevant text in the description (+2 bonus) would take precedence over any size penalties.
But does that mean that no matter WHAT size of weapon you're attempting to disarm, you get a +2 bonus to the attempt?
