Since people like making up names so much...

I'm looking for place names for a sort of fantasy London.

Ever read Neil Gaiman's "Neverwhere"? (If you haven't, get your butt to a bookstore and fast!) In it, we found out the real reason for place names like "Knightsbridge" and "Blackfriars" - the names actually reflected the place, although unknown to modern eyes.

Anyway, I'm trying to come up with a bunch of similar names for my own city, and suggestions are welcome.

Names I have so far -

Rookhaven
Ashbyrne
Brideswell
Almsford

Don't forget: Oxen-ford => Oxford.

Watership Down (I love this book)
Eastown
Dropping Eaves
Somersburgh
Winterhaven
Crickhollow :D
Crossing Paths
Shadyshire

Something that my friend's dad came up with is the twin towns of Silverwood and Sandalwood. I always thought that had a nice ring to it.

Also, I LOVED Neverwhere. Gaiman rocks...he needs to write more books.

Pynke's Hill
Mage Mews
Scandal Row
Applecart
Goblinblood Abbey
Belltower Street
Stone Spires
Polecat Flats

Robbers' Graves
