Site return kick-off: random things you want to see in a game

Well, since my previous post didn't really add to the conversation, I will add something. These are basically things that I've been trying to add to make my own campaigns more interesting:

1) Rewards that aren't simply treasure based. Favors, buildings (And building materials), strange abilities, feats, allies, etc.
2) Interesting fight locations. I once had a list of interesting fight locations that I wanted to try to use. Like shifting walls or floors, random bouts of fire, in the midst of arrow traps randomly shooting off arrows, while sliding down a slippery cliff, while attempting to flee a tower that is collapsing, etc.
3) A system to handle hirelings to make them useful and to be able to do things. Like sending hirelings to find information for you or scout ahead. Hirelings that craft for you while you're busy. Hirelings that can hide people from you or can break people out of prison. Like lots of the mundane things that your hirelings could do for you while you do things of more heroic and epic proportions.

By the way, if you're on Facebook and you follow EN World, you'll see there's a chance to win stuff if you post a thread. I talk about it here.

I actually rather don't want to win, since I already own all the prizes.

So, how does this tie into the thread topic? Well, I want to see in games a lot of crazy ideas, and the more threads there are posted, the more cool ideas I'll have to borrow from.

I recall once pondering using the 3.5 Dungeonscape prestige class Monster Trainer (or something like that) to play a kid in a mecha suit. My 'monster' would be my mecha that I'd climb into.
