In the section of UA where it gives the Skill Variant where the number of skills you know is equal to the skill points your first class would give + your Int modifier (fighter 2 + Int modifier, bard 6 + Int modifier skills known etc), I think I have discovered an error and was wondering if anybody could clarify for me?
It says (I don't think I'm braking copyright as I'm quoting less than 1% of the book):
"Second, compare your new class's number of skills known at 1st level to the number of skills known at 1st level from the class you already have (if you have more than one class, choose the class with the highest number of skills known at 1st level).
If your new class grants an equal or lower number of skills, you can choose one skill from your new class's list to add to the skills you know as a class skill (max ranks).
If you new class grants you up to four more skills than your best previous class, you may choose two skills from your new class’s list to add to skills you know as a class skill.
If your new class grants you five or more skills over and above your best class, you may choose three skills from your new class's list to add to the skills you know as class skills."
Well, what happens if your new class grants you two or more skills than your previous class? I think it would be strange if you get to know a new skill when you've been a fighter and you take a level of paladin, but not when you take a level of barbarian/bard/druid etc?
