Skirmishing Warlord

Paint the bullseye is pretty sweet. Sad that it's ranged attack only.

I assume Inspiring Shot is a daily, not an encounter. 3W, reliable, bonus to healing. Not terrible.

Interesting option.

I was hoping he fighter would et some kind of Heavy Thrown goodness, but waht I see here for the WArlord is not too bad. Nice expansnion of the Warlord's abilities.

I am so glad to see the Warlord getting a bow-using build. Ever since the Warlord came out, I have been saying "But what about the generals who sit on their horses in the BACK?"

Warlords can choose WHICH presence they get (independent of build)? Wow.

I also like that they can decide whether Int or Wis works. I'd like to see future classes/class builds do this. Although I'm surprised the class uses Str, not Dex.

Race the Arrow is a cool power.

Yes, it says so in the text. It's just the header color that's wrong.

This is just sloppy, though. After suggesting that you put high scores in Strength and Intelligence, the text goes on to say:
If you choose the Skirmishing Presence class feature, you can use Wisdom or Intelligence, so pick one of those ability scores as your tertiary ability score depending on which other warlord build you want to dabble in.
If you've already put a primary or secondary ability score into Intelligence, you can't put your teritiary ability score into Intelligence in the first place, and since you can already use Skirmishing Presence with Intelligence, there is no need to put your tertiary ability score into Wisdom, either.

Now, having Strength primary, Wisdom secondary and Intelligence tertiary would allow a Skirmishing Presence warlord to maintain the effectiveness of his class ability and multiclass with another Strength primary, Wisdom secondary class, but that is not what was said.

I was wondering how the would deal with the fact that ranged weapons (especially bows) are associated with Dexterity, which is not outlined as a relevant stat in the PHB's description for the Warlord. Well, seems they simply said use Strength instead of Dexterity. Meh. I would have liked them "breaking" that initial rule, and so making the Warlord more interesting for different races, too. An Elfen or Halfling Skirmisher Warlord for example could be interesting. It seems they are only willing to be that flexible for the secondary ability scores. (We saw that with the Bard already.)

+wis or +int to damage for the whole party vs one opponent? Woot! This is up there with the bard at-will that gives the target -2 to all defences.

The amusing part here is that it looks like this character will use hide armor, and to get a decent AC have to have Int as the secondary stat. That's the Genasi right there. Genasi archer? That doesn't fit the picture I have of them :D

I think they learned their lesson in PH1 about classes with different prime stats for the different builds; I don't think we'll ever see a Warlord build that doesn't use STR as its main stat. I wish they would acknowledge the error and rewrite the Cleric, Warlock and Paladin.

Agreed.

It's "color coded" (i.e. red bar) like an encounter, but the keyword says Daily (and for a leader class to have a 3W power at 1st level, and it has a result that lasts until the end of the encounter, it darn well should be a daily :) )
