(SL) Ghelspad Atlas Hardcover

Hello, all :)

Thank you for answering to my "complaints" :).

* As Nightfall indicated above, we would have *loved* to have reprinted the racial write-ups from the DM Companion that came with the Screen, but frankly, it was a
choice between old material and new. We just couldn't justify cutting new material it in order to do so.
I understand your problems. I do think that maybe the information on the gods and titans could have been a bit shorter, which might have helped, but that is just a personal opinion. :)

Drendari is deceptive, but not a trickster.
There is a difference at work here.
I do see being deceptive as an indication that she might deserve trickery as a domain. Another indication is that she is very close to thieves. But given that most demigods only have 3 domains, I can live with the official decision not to give her the Trickery domain (and house rule it if neccessary ;)).

You guys are so lucky. Our SL campaign wrapped up last month. We'll be playing Star Wars d20 for the summer and might pick up our old characters in the fall. An entire summer with no SL fix. And I just know all these new SL products are really cool.

Are there more city supplements coming out? Holy Bovine will probably shift us from our former stomping grounds of Vengaurak Vale and Khirdet if he does pick it up again (or we don't start with new PCs). Hollowfaust looks cool, but our PCs were mostly goody two shoes do-gooders. It'd give my cleric itchy holy symbol fingers to be in a city of necromancers.:)

Don't worry lovely lady cleric of the Redeemer, by the time you get back, you'll not missed much. I know that Calastia will have it's sourcebook out by July, but no ideas as the specific release date on that. There is a supplement for Shelzar being written BUT no other info so far. Plus our own Druid is giving us some really fun outdoorsy info on the Hornsaw! :) So who knows after that? :) But I do know R&R2 is still slated for late August/Early September. So more new spells you might want to consider! ;) My own opinion on Hollowfaust: I think you'll like it VERY much. Lots of evil to fit and redeem as well. You'll also get to meet with one of the few empowered priests of the Redeemer that was BORN there. She's got a mantra I think you like (actually it was her mother's mantra but I'm pretty sure Helvana adopted it.) "Better to reedem than slay." :) She and I think Hedrada's templars are some of the most beloved by the citizens. Corean get his due but I think those two and Nemorga are some of the more popular faiths in Hollowfaust. Good guys are welcomed, just DON'T go off half cocked about the undead there. At least those that ARE in the Underfaust and/or cilivian quarter. The ones in the Ghost Quarter and outside of the city, are fair game, especially intelligent undead.

Thought I'd be a sport and post these images here. For everyone's edification about Pre-Divine War Scarn.

Enjoy! :)

Also Otu, I do agree, this is something a Dm/Gm can house rule, even though I would point out that Nemorga has more than the alloted three. But being a god of Death, it makes sense to have Travel, Gateways and Knowledge along with Death.

Thanks for posting those maps Nightfall. We have got to pick up our campaign again for sure! Hollowfaust might be a nice change of pace at that. After all, we've already saved the world by stopping Mormo's followers from reassembling her. What do you do for an encore after that?:D

Of course, our rogue and my cleric are the only two that DON'T go off half-cocked. I wouldn't be the one making our DM get that throbbing vein by his temple by doing something crazy.

Cool maps Nightfall -- thanks. Do they appear in one of the products?

Understandable dilemma, but in truth, the problem is that you guys chose to publish them with the DM screen in the first place. I have it (and enjoy it) so it's not the end of the world for me, but I feel bad for any player who has to buy the DM screen to get info on player character races.

The Scarred Lands are a very interesting campaign world but the way the essential material is spread out over so many books is pretty frustrating. I was hoping that the hardcover would collect this stuff into one place and serve as a good starting point for campaigns. I would gladly have paid a little more (or sacrificed a little of the new info) to have one book that included the race info, the setting info, and the most essential prestige classes (especially Vigil of Vesh).

I also agree with Psion and Sulimo that a poster map and a some regional maps would have been great. However, even though I would have prefered a full size map, visually the map is very nice. And it looks beautiful as part of the cover design.

I picked it up just last night and I've only had a chance to read parts of the first and last chapters, but so far it seems great.

All in all, a great setting marred somewhat by the haphazard organization of the product line.

Oh I could live without a poster map, but regional maps with more detail drawn to a smaller scale is the kind of map I would've liked.

I dont think its only the organisation, but the way in which the setting is being created. Its not like say the Realms (well I dont think it is) where a huge chunk of it was produced previously by 1 person and then published, rather its being created as they go by a scattered group of people. Not that this is a bad way to create a campaign world, but its is problematic with regards to the product line.

I'm glad the racial stuff wasnt reprinted though. As it was I thought the page count of the God stuff was a bit too much given I already had plenty of god stuff.

Is there any way to get the racial information for those of us who lack the GM screen and do not plan to get it just for that? Maybe a web supplement?

Well you could try to help in ressurrecting a god. OR you could try to convert some titanspawn. Certainly not as epic as stopping Mormo from coming back, BUT I'm sure you can find something there. ;) I'm glad you like the maps madriel sweet.

I agree it's slightly problematic BUT not a big thing, especially since it often results in some very unique ideas being spun out.

Well Sul just remember that not everyone got Div&Def.

Tuerny, if you'd like I can send you an email about it. That way it's available IF people want it.
