People still read slashdot? I remember it was big around 2000, but I haven't heard it mentioned in literally years.

Internet use has gone well beyond the typical computer geek since the late 1990's / early 2000 / 2001.

As for why Tellah, that would probably be because that is the 'rpg' icon they use for video games.
