Slideshow from D&D XP

You know, I meet more and more of these people every week. Seriously!

It may be a larger market than people that actually play.

But if they no longer play, would they even find out that the book has been released in order to actually buy it?

The practical guide to monsters is a must-buy for me. This smells to me like the fluff of monster books that we'll never see as separate entities. Since I use little of that crunch anyway (I'll finally use a PrC from Draconomicon sometime in 2008, once the Midwood campaign reaches its level 10 climax and the high-level sequel begins), this works fine by me.

Have you read a practical guide to dragons? It's aimed at the young reader market (Knights of the Silver Dragon, New Dragonlance Adventures).

Didn't realize it had been released! I've been using the Spiderwick Field Guide book for this sort of fluff up until now. I'll certainly check out the Practical Guide to Dragons.

(Did they ever come up with a Knights of the Silver Dragon sourcebook, by any chance?)

From Amazon (where it can be preordered for under $11):

Perhaps by seeing it at the bookstore? Isn't that how most people find out books have been released?

Presumedly they'll see it at the bookstore. It may not be shelved in the D&D section.

OR they simply chose not to order it in favor of some other book. Bookstores are notorious about having their "own" selections.
