Slower, Cheaper Potions

An Idyea that dawned on me at summer school: Potions that cost less to make, but take a full minute to consume. An Essence (as I call them) costs 75% as much to make, but require a large amount of intake, or an incantation, or both.

Example:

In order to make his next ritual work, Westenberger the Jovial removes his Sapho Essence from his belt, and begins a droning incantation: "It is by will alone I set my mind in motion; it is by the juice of Sapho the thoughts aquire speed; the lips aquire stains; the stains become a warning; It is by will alone I set my mind in motion." Quaffing a whole pint of the syrupy red fluid, his mind goes ablaze with heightened intelligence.

(Bonus points to who can name the movie)

Example Item

Juice of Sapho

This syrupy liquid comes in large glass bottles of 1 pt. size with an air spout so that the syrup pours faster. After saying the incantation on the bottle and drinking it, the character gains a 1d4+1 enhancement bonus to Intelligence for 3 hours, as the Fox's Cunning spell.
Caster Level: 3rd. Prerequisites: Brew Potion, Fox's Cunning.
Market Value: 225 GP.

Full round or standard action, it doesn't change that much. Only in the depth of combat where you really need that move action will this matter. So, I think this is a little too good.

Uhh.... weren't there two Dune movies? The original (which everyone always complains about) and the Sci-Fi made for TV movie (which was pretty good, and close to the book to boot)?

HH: You are not wrong, as even the sci-fi channel special kinda devoured the story. But the visuals in the movies (both David Lynch and Sci-Fi) were absolutely stunning.

SGJ: I love how in the sci-fi everyone tried to "out-hat" each other with progressively outrageous costumes. The pyramid robe that feyd wears is bitchin', and I adore the double hooked staff.
