SM IV and the Advespa Devil

The advespa devil write up in the FF, says that these may be summoned by a SM IV spell. I've seen this in play a little recently, and it seems awefully powerful at that level. I was wondering what others thought?

Are you playing 3.5? If so keep in mind that the SM lists chnged considerably, and any non-3.5 sources should be looked at very closely to ensure they maintain the balance.

good point. we are playing 3.5, but FF was mostly designed with 3.5 in mind.

Sort of ... 3.5 was a consideration, but 3.5 changed a lot from the time that material in the FF was finalized to when 3.5 was finalized.

If you're finding it to be too strong, move it up to SM V.

Hmmm... that's true. I wonder why I misremembered that? I guess that means that I gave it an arbitrary level based on that Dragon article. I'll have to do soem thinking about it.

Any body have an opinion on whether or not it's too good for SM IV?
