Smallville: Blank

Did they say why the father killed the one son and blamed it on the other? I remeber the scene with e kid remembering it but don't recall if they explsined why it happened.

The suggestion postulated by the scoobies was that someone would only do something if they couldn't bear the thought of having done it themselves. Which was ridiculously obvious that that would make the suspect the father who apparently gets away with working at Summerholt without Chloe finding out.

But they also offer us a shot with Kevin (was that his name? damn amnesia powers) begging his father not to do it, saying he'll never tell anyone it was his father's fault. So you also have the possibility that the guy is evil and more concerned with keeping out of jail by pinning it on his soon to be troubled son than he is with remaining close to the son he has left.

It's left to audience to decide which motive they like better.

Sometimes the writers of Smallville chicken out and I felt like they gave a big "nah" to all the Smallville Fans who critisize them as they set up an oh so familiar situation where Chloe's going to forget the last few episodes, only to surprise me for a change and keep her memories, then hint to Clark that she knows. Then, on top of that, they set up another oh so familiar I love you but I can't but I do but I can't scene between Lana and Clark, only to have it end differently than the last 30,000 and have Clark finally not let her walk away.

I'm afraid I still don't understand what's going on between Clark and Lois. Even though Lois has a slight attitude towards Clark (which seems to be tongue in cheek more than anything else), it doesn't make any sense to me why Clark would dislike Lois. In fact, Lois is darn hot. Clark should be all over that.

Clark and Lois are in that high school/junior high crush phase where they like each other, but are afraid of cooties. So, they slap at each other and get snippy.

The way I took things in this ep. was that Lois went with the sniping without realizing that Clark wasn't "in on" the game. Clark didn't know it was in fun and was turned off by it. Even when Lois came to him without pretenses and to help him (scene in the barn), he still leaned on that image and said, "I don't think we like each other very much."

Personally, I thought Lois' response was perfect. "You're on the right track, Smallville." Then she looked hurt and walked away.

I didn't see it that way, myself. She didn't seem to look particularly hurt, though I admittedly wasn't looking for it.

Lois and Clark are polar opposites at this point - she's city-wise, assertive, and smug as heck, he's quiet, farmboyish, and unassuming. She's an army brat and he's Mr. "I must be concerned for all my friends." She smokes, he doesn't. This causes them both to be attracted to each other, but also be repelled from one another. They seem at the "friends" stage, though the point at which they have something in common (being together in Metropolis) that will change.

He's got enough relationship troubles in his life now, that adding Lois to the mix would be emotionally masochistic. :) It seems Clark is just happy to know what ground he stands on with Lois, because the two of them are brutally honest with one another, and it's something he can respect.

I wouldn't say that they're deeply in love or anything. Like you said, they're both repelled and attracted to one another. I think it's more of an "attracted in spite of their revulsion", though. Like I said, jr. high antics. I don't think either one actually realizes that there might be a spark there.

That said, it's just a TV show. And one based of a comic book, at that. To look too deeply is insanity. I thought the way they shot the scene suggested something under the surface. Even if it did, though, it may not matter with the next writer or director.

I'm wondering if the next Lana-Clark revolution might be Lana protecting Clark from her deep dark secrets? If Jason turns out of be as dastardly as he could be, that definitely seems to have the potential to send Lana into slow-mo again. I just hope that Clark finally just up and lets the cat out of the bag with Chloe eventually. He's not that stupid and she's not exactly being particularly coy.

I think this one was good because of Chole, they have been letting Alison Mack run with the character, she has been under used the prior seasons.

!!

I loved it too, but I only caught the last half hour! Can someone post a link to a good spoiler site so I can see what happened during the first bit? I wish they'd just show re-runs on Sunday like they used to...
