Smallville: "Splinter"

Okay, my mistake with Metropolis being in Delaware in the comics and not New York. Yet, Metropolis is obviously nearer Smallville now than it was in the earlier seasons. I really don't see Smallville as part of Metropolis.

It was one of the earlier seasons maybe 1st or 2nd that showed Lana & Clark looking at the Metropolis sky line from a water tower in Smallville

I recall Chloe saying it was about a 3-hour drive from Smallville to Metropolis. I also recall Pete saying that Clark could make the round trip, including purchasing food, in about 10 minutes.

Yet, in one episode Martha and Jonathan took an airplane to Metropolis. I really don't see the Kents wasting money on airplane tickets when they could have drove.

Huh. I guess it's one of those things you have to chalk up to 'we forgot' on the part of the writers and whoever monitors continuity. It happens.

I live in Tampa, FL which is between an hour and two hours drive to Orlando, FL. Despite this, it is possible to take a flight from Tampa to Orlando. I don't know why you'd want to, but it's possible. I have an aunt and uncle who actually had to do this. They were coming from overseas, had to transfer in Orlando and fly into Tampa. My aunt said the plane basically took off and landed in something like 15 minutes, they were on the tarmac longer than they were in the air.
