Snail + 2 Headed Snake = Creepy Monster...

So I was reading the new Dungeoncraft Article, and it has a pic of a Dreamblade mini... It's a weird two headed snake thing with a snail shell.

I don't know why but I find that to be one creepy monster. I so need to use that thing in an adventure.

cute article, though all the dream blade figs have 40mm {large bases]. while the two bipeds can be sliced off and glued to a medium base, The two headed snail is probably too big to even fit on a medium base.

I seem to remember from when Dreamblade minis were first coming out that they were almost all on a smaller base that is sitting inside the colored 40mm base. I've never tried to separate the two bases, but I'd imagine that it's possible.

snail

I seem to recall there being a critter like this in RuneQuest/Glorantha. It was some kind of chaos beast (called a 'dragon snail' perhaps?) and quite powerful. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an old Ral Partha mini of it.

So how is 'Greenbrier' pronounced? I read the article and keep thinking it should be 'Greenbriar', which is annoying.

Hey, i have that snake snail! Yes, it's a very cool looking mini. I think i left the same base on and just painted it black. It's one of those random things i picked up at the hobby shop blow out sale for like 50 cents.

Dreamblade had some really good stuff for weird D&D conversions.

Dude, you'll cut your finger off. The little base squashed inside the big base is glued in TIGHT. You're better off trying to slice the mini itself away and re-gluing to a large round base (or medium, or whatever).

But the large square base is really about the same size as a large round DDM base, so that's no problem. It's only when you have medium monsters on that big ass base that you'll need to fiddle with it.

Exactly right, the RQ two-headed dragon snail was a pretty fearsome beast (and you never knew quite what chaos powers it might have)
