However, just in case the original poster was asking a trick question, I wanted to have my bases covered.

Now, I agree with virtually everything you posted and Olgar in the immediate previous post. But, given that this is a very old dragon, no doubt he has many many teleport spells and dimention door, and gate, and magic items similar. So his matrix has him potentially going from one room to any other room.

And we didn't even get into "Schrodinger's Dragon" theory, wherein the dragon is in all of the rooms and none of the rooms at once until somebody bothers to look... and until they find him, he is simultaneously a dead dragon and a live dragon.
