my DM is converting.

but i'm not.;)

Original D&D(1974) is the only true game. All the other editions are just a poor imitation of the real thing.:D

We're not changing yet. My players don't want to buy PHBs all over again, so we'll go to 3.5 once everyone's old PHBs start falling apart. I don't forsee that in the near future at all, though...

(Diaglo - how come you don't put that standard statement of yours into your sig?)

My DM want to convert but I don't. I personally don't see the need for 3.5, but that is just me. It seems that he will allow me and another player to retain most of our 3.0 characters who would be radically altered by the new rules. So it seems we will finish this campaign as some sort of hybrid. After that he wants to go to HERO System and that is fine by me as I won't have to ever buy 3.5. By the time we are done with HERO in 2-3 years I expect to see 4.0 and will decide on that based on what I see.

Odds are that we'll change.

I like most of the changes, myself and will certainly be using them when we rotate DMs.

The current DM has decided that we'll vote on different "modules" of the game, like magic, classes, feats, skills and adoption will be based on those votes.

The classes discussion should be most interesting. We have a Bard player who decided several months ago that the class sucks and has been holding on with the hope of upgrading. On the other hand, my wife is playing a Duelist and is of the general opinion that the 3.5 Duelist has been weakened _way_ too much.

I like 3.5 and so do the publishers.

Already a lot of great 3.5 products, including some starter adventurers like the Hamlet of Thumble and Kenzer's Stand and Deliver.

Lots of sourcebooks too like Cry Havok from Malhavok, and even settings like Warcraft.

Is it perfect? Nope.

Am I enjoying it?

Yup.

I like D&D.

I can honestly say (just as I did three years ago) that taken as a whole, the current version is an improvement over the earlier versions.

We revamped the 3.0 characters last night and everyone walked away much happier. I'm looking forward to running D&D again.
