So, has everyone pretty much given up on Smallville?

I thought last night's episode was good too, except for the whole Lana angle (this was the most screen time she's had in many episodes and I could have done without every minute of it). When both the character and the actress are irritating it's just a no-win situation for me.

Agreed. I also like wow Oliver directly addressed Clark's angst over Jon's injury, with a "stop whining and do something" kind of thing.
I like Lana in this ep, except for the very end. I honestly don't think we need that anymore, especially if this is the last season.

I still like the show, preferably because of the new direction. More DC cameos are nice. And I like the alternative universe spin on everything. Best of all I like the green lantern. Honestly I"d rather just see a show about that character. More intriguing, more action oriented and he has no problem killing someone.

Her fighting seems a little stiff, more like playing it safe on the TV show.
As great as the show is going, it's not the same without his archenemy. The big question is, can they cast someone else as Lex, or wait for Michael Rosenbaum to change his mind?

Her fighting has always been stiff, but I account that to her being an actress and not an athlete.
I think Lex and Lionel as the on and off nemesis needed shaken up. While I found this past episode a little weak I have been liking the season.
Now that we have super Lana will she be of much help fighting Doomsday?

I don't think so. I just don't see them killing off any of the main characters unless they are a father.
Yep, 100% agree. That's why Oliver has been a great addition to the show. Here's someone without any power (aside from the power of an unemptying wallet) who doesn't worry so much about the whys, but just gets things done.
He's the anti-Clark and they make a good pairing, especially when you can see how they don't get along.
What I find funny about Smallville is how when they make a mistake, they just forget about it. How about that entire season where Lana was a reborn witch? It was a horrible season, probably the worst, and it's just forever forgotten.
This is Smallville's strongest season in many. The only downside is that I don't like the woman who is running Lexcorp. She isn't interesting, threatening, or fun.
