D&D (2024) So have your characters ever met an Earthling? getting Modern-day Earth in your fantasy...

Now I remember Onyx Path published a setting "Legendlore" where the characters are "isekai".

If you are hit by the evil version of Optimus Prime you will be sent to a isekai realm. I have no proof but no doubts either

I read that series a while back. Great stuff! The wizard player who ultimately became known as "the Engineer" was my favorite.
Agreed. And when he invents the revolver and gives it to the kid and says "When you meet the person who killed your father, stick this in their stomach and pull it til all you hear are clicks and tell them 'Lou Ricetti sends his regards.'"

The engineer was THE rules lawyer. "Oh, the cost of bringing my friend back is I have to give up all my magical ability? I'll bring my engineering textbooks back with me and be better."

A couple ideas I really liked were that the cloaks of protection were just normal cloaks until they needed to defend - I loved the scene where they're discussing a plan, and a guy is just tossing pebbles at Doria, just for them to plink off her cloak - and the other idea that wizards could sense other wizards, and so they could really throw up their aura as an active challenge.

Haven't read them in a long time, and I'm sure they're not as good as I remember, but this was my time frame where I was into that, Myth Adventures and the Xanth stuff (problematic, I know now)
