D&D 5E So my campaign is being derailed by HAIR

Does the campaign setting include anything like traditional Samurai? It occurred to me that an item like this could really mess with the whole feudal-Japanese hair-based honour/status-symbol tradition. Imagine a disgraced Samurai, who feels that he has been unfairly dishonoured, being able to instantly restore his topknot with such an item. People would literally kill for that - and others would consider it an abominable abrogation of social order.

I missed the "to", the first time. That was an extremely unpleasant image of a slugman. Also, a somewhat different sort of game.

Need to go bleach my brain.
"For vile, slimy beings, the slugmen are extremely interested in interior design; they kept asking me if the carpet matched the drapes."

The slugmen are the ruling class, and there is no strict honor-based warrior code. The Yellow City values magic and knowledge (and tea, and opium) over martial prowess, although club-men fighting arenas are popular.

That being said, I could see conflicts over slaves with particularly luscious hair...

Edit: I'm going to discourage the PCs getting involved in the slave trade, that could get disturbing fast.

Hair?

Long beautiful hair?

Shining, gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen?

Give me down to there hair, shoulder length or longer
Here, baby, there, momma, everywhere, daddy, daddy
HAAAIIIIIIRRRRRRRR?

IIRC, the actors in the musical had all of their hair on display.

The question is, given that they're completely hairless, do the slug-men even know exactly where on their bodies they should graft this marvellous magical hair?

Cheers, Al'Kelhar

Well, although the Slugmen are the ruling class, *most* of the inhabitants are human so they have a decent idea...

... but not perfect. I think some quick thinking humans are going to get decent gigs as hair consultants :D

Hmmmm....

I'm getting a bit concerned about this.

So this "hair transfer business" thing... okay. It's a bit strange, and it's going to give the PCs a nice (not huge, but nice) and steady amount of change. And it's an ever present story hook - a lucrative business is a target for thieves, rivals etc, and it gives the PCs something to *care about*. Of course, I won't have every adventure be hair related. That would get old, and there are other things I want to do.

But I'm starting to worry about it tying the heroes *too much*. "We can't go on this 3 weeks journey, something might happen to the business!". So how do I balance that?
