D&D 5E So what adventures have you played recently? Modules? DYO?

Hi all-

I have noticed there is no thread of adventures that have been played using the 5E rule set. So I thought, what the hell, I'll post up a thread asking such a question. RoE: This does not have to be a full blown AAR, just a few sentences saying what you played and if you enjoyed what you played.

Since returning to the hobby, I am currently running the Tyranny of Dragons with my Roll20 Kampfgroup. This is my 2nd time running this series and it is alot of fun to both play and DM.

And being the glutton for punishment that I am, I am running another group via roll20 in a Greyhawk campaign. Not sure yet on what I will run here but it will be epic.

I am currently about to finish up the Greyhawk Legends campaign (which I titled Web of Destiny). I converted several of Gygax's best Greyhawk adventures into an AP. I actually modified it based on the preferences and actions of the characters (I was originally going to use Scourge of the Slave Lords, even though it's not EGG).

I started with Village of Hommlet, which led into the Temple of Elemental Evil. Afterwards, they went into The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, which the obligatory side quest of The Forgotten Temple of Tharzidun. Afterwards they began Against the Giants, which naturally leads into Descent into the Depths of the Earth and culminates in Queen of the Demonweb Pits (where they are now). I tried to find a way to sneak Tomb of Horrors and Isle of the Ape into the campaign but really couldn't without forcing it. Instead I think I'll keep the characters and offer a revisit later if the players are interested.

I ran Lost Mine of Phandelver and loved it. My group used that adventure to learn the rules and it held up well.

I ran Princes of the Apocalypse and would rate it as average. Lots of problems in the organization of the module. It works best as an add-on to a campaign, where the characters are doing other things besides trashing elemental cults. By the time we finished it, the group was very ready to move on, but they did enjoy the end fight with one of the elemental princes.

Playing in Out of the Abyss, currently 5th-7th level characters in the party. The beginning is brutal. So far the middle is kind of boring - we're not strong enough to really fix the problem (a demon invasion), but we're strong enough that most wandering encounters are little more than time-wasters. Right now we're following up rumors, trying to build some kind of alliance to stop the demons. Even the GM seems a bit frustrated by the module, so I don't know if we'll finish it.

I haven't really run any WoTC 5e adventures - GM'd a few sessions of Phandelver and disliked it.

In my Sunday Golarion 5e game I've GM'd a bunch of Paizo PF AP adventures - #2 & #3 of Rise of the Runelords, #1 #2 #3 of Shattered Star.

For my online Wilderlands 5e game I've used the 3e Caverns of Thracia, Dyson's Delves I, The Ancient Academy one page dungeon, Venger Satanis' Liberation of the Demon Slayer, et al. :)

I have adapted a few adventures in to my hombrew campaign. I used the Gaunlet of Spiraggos later on i used a pre tales of yawning portal version of forge of fury, now they going thru tales of the yawning portal version of hidden shrine. Eventually I plan to incorporate tomb of horrors. In a separate campign we played thru Curse of Strahd which was fun.

Howdy-

Are these short adventures? IE The Ancient Academy? If they are where can I find them?

Very cool too see such a variety in adventures being played.

My campaign is on hold for a month or so, but the adventures I ran in it before that were:

Tower of the Black Flame (Primeval Thule)
Cavern of Golden Tears (Primeval Thule)
Eidolon of the Ape (World of Xoth, converted to 5e)
Night of the Yellow Moon (Primeval Thule)
Land of the Silver Lotus (World of Xoth, converted)

A player disappeared about a third of the way through Silver Lotus, then another decided to move across the country, which is why the campaign is on hold. When my PC roster is restocked we will pick up again with Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan.
