So, what do the Masses think of Fiend Folio?

I have yet to be able to find FF...and I really want to grab it...same with the UAA for Star Wars d20...anyone know the street date for that?

My FLGS had both when I went in yesterday.

FF is not too bad, better then MM2 though. I think the monsters are a good mix of creative exotics and old favorites, the art ranges from amazing to abysmal, and the layout could use some work. My biggest problem is not enough oozes though ;)

Haven't seen it. Not sure if I'll pick it up when in finally arrives over here, but probably will. Eventually,

available in London, UK

Hi,

Picked up my copy from Orc's Nest in London today.

Lots of cool Planescape creatures are back (although the art for the rilmani is bloody awful), as well as the necrophidius -- one of the best monsters from White Dwarf and the original Fiend Folio.

Recommended!

I resisted tempation at my FLGS today and did not pick it up, but oh, it was tough. Flipped through it, decided that I definitely will buy it sooner or later (as opposed to MMII).

Mostly, I think I'm going to grab it for the day when I decide to run Planescape 3.5. =)

I've been enjoying it so far. A few notes on revised skills for 3rd ed, one renamed feat. Lots of monsters and a few PrCs. Well illustrated, blows Tome of Horrors illustration out of the water. Some minor overlap with Tome of Horrors but it's not a big deal for me.

Funny I liked some of the ones in Tome. I don't have FF but I may get it...after a while. Certainly I do think Tome is better overall but then I'm biased. :p ;) In any case just have to wait and see.

It's good

I just bought it yesterday and I looked the whole thing over once. I think it looks pretty darn good, and definitely better than MM I and MM II in terms of the thought and creativity put into the new monsters. There were a few monsters that didn't impress me much, but most of them seem useful and interesting. I particularily like the swarm subtype, which I think fills a needed place.

Amen to that. I'm still digesting the content, but I'm finding the artwork to be a disappointment, overall. What's with the recurring clipart? I'm not just referring to page-filler reprinted from the BoVD, I'm talking the exact same illustration appearing on pages 5 and 209, 7 and 212, etc, etc. Does WotC really think our collective attention spans are so short that we wouldn't notice illos getting repeated within the same book?

And there are way too many illos by Dennis Cramer, he of the halfling-smothered-in-orc-brain fame. Is this guy related to a Senior VP at Hasbro or something?
