Speaking of "status" changing, how do ya do it? is it a hack, moderator thing, community supporter thing, or just not-for-jeph thing?

I meant to have his user ID (i.e., "Crothian") changed, actually!

As for status (or title, which I think you meant): Only admins can change a user's title. (We mods can change our own title, though.) So community supporters generally have to e-mail Morrus (or post in Meta).

Truth be told, before I was promoted to Super Moderator - and thus, before I could change my title - , there was a Book of Vile Darkness thread in which I made some remark about having my user ID changed to Vile Darkness (complete with the disclaimer that it was a joke lest an admin really changed it). So an admin (either Eric or Morrus - probably Morrus -; I haven't found out who even today) changed my status to Vile Moderator instead - pretty neat, considering that, at that time, only Eric (and the first couple CommSupps) had a custom title.
And when I was promoted (and became able to change it myself), I changed it to what it's now... (Still, since Leopold and RangerWickett - who are "normal" Moderators - now have custom titles, too, I wonder whether Moderators are now able to do things that we couldn't "back in the good old days..." )
