So what goodness did you GIVE for Christmas?

I got my husband, who is catholic, a nice red leather bound catholic edition bible, because he's been comenting on not having a bible. I put a bookmark in it to the book of Ruth, which contains the most romantic line EVAR (the begining of which is engraved in our wedding rings).

I picked up two sets of picture holder coasters and printed up pictures of my son to put in them then gave one set to each of his pairs of great grandparents. They were very well recieved.

I gave my sis-in-law a fleece throw with a tiger on it, which she loved due to her tiger worship. ;)

Probably the best gift I gave this year was the loufa handle that I made for my wife from a mimosa tree that we cut down in our yard this year. I just did this on a whim since I've noticed from time to time that she has mentioned wishing I'd been there to scrub her back in the shower. Then, a week before Christmas, she gave me a list of stuff that she wanted and "loufa with a handle" was on it!

As a finishing touch I inscribed one side with "Best Wife Ever" and the other with "I Got Your Back". She loves it!

I have a friend who was having a bit of a bind this year. She casually mentioned she needed new gloves and a scarf many weeks before Christmas...so I went out and found a scarf-hat-glove set (all purple, her fave color) and mailed them to her. She had no idea before hand.

My sister lost her stepson on the 21st..on top of her losing her job 2 weeks before and her husband not being able to work. So I surprised them a pretty heft gift card for Walmart so they could get things they needed w/out it seeming like I was giving them charity (cash is just frowned on by some folks..go figure). I also got a nice digital camera for my wife (yeah, we're divorcing but we're still friends). She had no clue I'd remembered her mentioning she wanted it months ago. I remember stuff.

I gave my brother in law a 3.5 PHB, my wife knitted her sister in law a hat and scarf (as well as hats for her neice, my neices and nephews, mother, her mother etc etc she really loves knitting!), I got the wife the InuYasha Second Season DVD, "The Map that Changed the World" and "Krakatoa: The Day the World Exploded" by Simon Winchester, an mp3 player, a manga book and new headphones for the computer. We also picked up some clothes and colouring books & supplies for all of the assorted neices and nephews. I gave my mom some photo albums & writing paper and I gave my dad some cash so he & mom can go to the movies and dinner and not worry about their 'fixed income' ;)

I still don't feel like i gave very much in comparison to what I recieved.

Oh I also made Christmas brunch and dinner - despite it being hosted at my brother-in-law's house. My wife and I were irritated about that (we drove 200km to see them, not clean their house and make dinner for them) but we got a chance to vent with each other and it really amounts to nothing.

Well IronPup got way too many gifts and Lady IronWolf got more than just the one I mention below, but...

IronPup - A big Red Car to ride around in, he loves it!
Lady IronWolf - a Coach Handbag (a.k.a. purse to us mortals)

Did you put money in it? It is bad luck to give a gift of a purse without money in it.

Uh oh! I should have remembered that. My father always gave me a new wallet with at least some money in it. I did spend a fair amount of money *on* it, does that count? :)
