Yeah, come hell or high water ;)

No, but seriously - the situation isn't funny at all, but the continous jokes ABOUT the situation are. Unfortunately.

As someone who doesn't really need the GSL, I do find the situation funny. With every passing day, my grin of incredulity grows wider.

The GSL and SRD

Are they on a boat?
Are they with a goat?
Are they in the rain?
Are they on a train?
Are they in the dark? or are they in a tree?
Are they in a car? Why won't you let them be?
Are they in a box?
Are they with a fox?
Are they in a house?
Are they with a mouse?
Are they here or there?
Are they ANYWHERE?

It was with The Rouse.
Then he gave it to an eagle.
Who carried it far.
And gave it to legal.
Legal made some edits.
So did R&D.
To then put on the web site.
For all to see.

I dont understand why the GSL needs to come dead last.

First Wizards was waiting on the books, now it's waiting on the SRD, expandable ad infinitum apparently.

If the license were released, that, along with the rules, would let 3rd party publishers (like the one I work for) actually decide whether they can support the rules and begin allocating resources (including time).

Instead Wizards seems hell bent on sticking to a schedule no one forced on them, to release the GSL dead last.

Publishers need to see the GSL more than they need a final SRD, since seeing the GSL would at least let them begin to plan.
