Well, since you mentioned their CMS, my theory is they really need to define an area in the new 4e site for this, and my bet is they're not sure where to put it. Where would this go?

If they are just starting to wonder about this today, I'm really worried.

They just announced on the D&D news page that it's coming next week.

D&D 4E Game System License Coming Next Week

We are excited to announce that the Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition Game System License will be released early next week.

The license with accompanying System Reference Document (SRD), Statement of Acceptance (AKA confirmation card), Compatibility Logo, and FAQ will be posted to http://www.wizards.com/d20 and will go live immediately upon publication. The license, logo, and acceptance form will be posted as downloadable files.

Anyone wishing to participate in the D&D 4E GSL will need to fill out a Statement of Acceptance and return it by mail to Wizards of the Coast.

First on-sale date for GSL compatible products is October 1, 2008.

We are also working on a new fan site policy, to be made public at a later date.

At least they are excited...

I figured it had to do with content management--they are putting it in the d20 folder, which means they have to (a) update those templates and (b) remove the old d20 content (I guess).

Sounds like they are still working on the fan site policy, so people waiting for those questions to be answered will have to wait a little bit.

Actually, I think they found out from the last announcement that releasing licensing info on a Friday is a bad idea.
