so who else wil also be going for the deluxe edition ?

Considering that I'm growing less and less confident that the RAW will properly reflect RAI, I'm thinking yeah, they may need a revision. And even then, I'm hoping the #*&^ "pay for errata" policy will have been buried in an unmarked grave.

WotC are just providing Deluxe editions for Holiday gift givers. So when our lady or gentlemen friends, moms, dads and grandones ask what you want and have no answers, expect deluxe goodness. :area:

... I'd still rather have a real gift over an over-priced version of a book I already have or (and the odds becoming increasingly against this, admittedly) don't actually want.

I really think deluxe editions are more social commentary than anything else. That a book thats exactly the same, but more expensive, is even a viable marketing category is laughable. Though admittedly 'collectors edition' software is even worse.

I got the deluxe 3.5 PHB for a number of reasons

1) I needed a PHB since we decided to switch over to 3.5.
2) It was 50% off.
3) It included most of the errata.
4) It was 50% off.
5) It was half-price.

If not for those reasons, I would have just gone for the normal book. So I think I'll be fine with the regular 4.0 books.
