So who's DONE with their shopping?

Belen and I finished our Christmas shopping this evening, and I literally just finished wrapping the gifts.

I do have a funny shopping anecdote to relate. We stopped by Hallmark this evening to purchase Christmas cards for close family members (we exchange greeting cards on Christmas morning.)

While shopping, Belen and I wandered into the "romantic" Christmas card section and began looking for cards for one another. We were both being all secretive so that we wouldn't see each other's cards.

After a lot of searching, I finally found the PERFECT card. It was funny (and a little naughty) and I knew Belen would appreciate it. So I picked it up and headed for the register. I met Belen there and I saw the back of the Christmas card he was purchasing for me. It looked shockingly familiar.

It turned out that we had bought each other the very same card! Crazy, huh?

Done with the shopping. Spent a small fortune today shipping stuff. Plenty left to wrap still, and one package that I ordered from Amazon three weeks back might get here by Christmas (they say Dec. 23 estimated delivery).

Oh, and I want to post some kudos to FedEx. They tried to deliver a package yesterday, but nobody was home so they left a tag that they would come again on Monday. Today they came by. The driver told me that they have a huge amount of packages backing up, so they took volunteers to work today (Saturday) and help clear the backlog in the hopes they would not be as insane the last two days before Christmas. I'm especially glad to have it in hand rather than left on the doorstep as there have been several thefts of packages off doorsteps around here the past two weeks.

Hell, I'm done with Christmas!

Well at least for the family I live with now who are travelling to Africa over the holidays. Then I boot it up Vancouver Island to spend Christmas with my sisters.

2, 2, 2 Christmas' in 1.

Shopping? That's what Dec 24th is for!

I did that once. About, oh, 15 years ago I put everything off save for my Mom until... literally the last day. A buddy (Bugs!) and myself ran around the city until store closing time getting everything for everyone, getting it wrapped and getting it to the places the things needed to get to.

Never again! :)

Almost! I just have one last one to do.

I just need to get a yellow rose and a Harkins Gift Card to smooth out a frienship with my sisters' best friend.
