So who's going to Gen Con?

I'll be attending, and I'm bringing my entire gaming group this year. It's going to be LEGENDARY! :D

Aww man, you're going to be there?! Bah!

... oh yeah, you will be, and you'll be helping me pay for the hotel. :D

I'll be there again this year with the same two folks (Alz and Clueless) as every year for the past several. Maybe this year I'll actually get to game if I can wedge my way into something (3.x, Pathfinder, Shadowrun, Eclipse Phase or Cthulhutech being the interests).

I'm in, rolling in Tuesday afternoon (in theory) and heading out Monday morning.

Completely opposite to Mark_CMG, for me this year and 2015 are the only years in sight where the Con. is early enough; the next 3 years are too late in the summer and run into the back-to-school vacation blackout imposed by my work.

I'm almost certainly not running anything this time, but I've got a decent lineup of things on my schedule - never mind shopping till I drop. :)

However, for those getting in on Tuesday I'm trying to put together a pub night at the RAM - there's a thread for this in the planning forum, above.

RangerWickett - that beer game sounds like fun. What's your scheduled sailing time?

I'll be there. I have a fair bit of work lined up, so gaming will be catch-as-catch-can (other than the annual session of my Apocalypse campaign).

I'll be there, and I'd be interested in any of those ideas. I might try to run a couple of Sneak Attack Press adventures, most likely Good Little Children and Axes of evil.

The car AC is recharged and I will be there, as will the S.O. We drive in Wednesday (9 hours approximate road time) and usually leave very early Sunday morning and have a day to relax at home Monday before returning to the grind. Plus driving through Chicago in the early AM Sunday is really sweet from a traffic standpoint. If I can cut a half hour or so off my drive time the keister appreciates it. ;)

She's a schedule-loving person so we're pretty hard booked. We start at 8:00 am or as close as we can and I'm playing 5 LFR sessions (3 Calimshans, Elturgard and a Paragon Spec.), Doctor Who and a board game slot so I had to actually "schedule" an open slot for the dealer room. Her daughter will also be around, as will her daughter's bf and his dad (they're board gamers). A number of gaming compatriots from around town will be there also.

I have to admit, scheduling so tight leaves me wanting for time to catch up with non-locals but I've become more comfortable with the concept of 'there's simply not enough time to do everything you want at Gen Con'. Last year I had 45 minutes in the dealer room total. This year I want more. :) I generally try to keep nights free but we're even booked this year there some, although we may drop the Thursday Night Mansions of Madness slot.

I've seen mentions that family passes are an on-site thing only, but no actual info on how much they will be. We were wanting to do a day trip of GenCon, but $48 each for an afternoon is a bit much. My kids are 3 and 5 1/2 if that helps any :)

I can't find it on the website (I swear the GenCon website is one of the most user unfriendly sites I've ever had the misfortune to use), but IIRC, children 8 and under are free. You are required to register them and get an wristband so they can match the little ones to parent if you get separated. I've taken my young children on Sundays for years and never paid for them.

I'll be going again this year, which is easy to do as I live in Indy. I'll also be working at the Triple Ace Games booth on Thursday.
