Does anyone know some good social status/influence/reputation/honor rules on the net?

I'm looking for rules which allow PCs to become legendary figures in a foreign nation, and provide benefits (and hindrances - fame is a 2 edged sword) for their reputations.

Check the D20 Modern SRD for its Reputation rules, they might work for ya, or they might not. A character gains Reputation from class levels, normally, and it varies with class; i.e. a Charismatic Hero in D20 Modern will gain Reputation at a rate similar to a strong saving throw, if I recall correctly, while a Strong Hero will only gain Reputation at a rate worse than even a weak saving throw. You could assign Reputation bonuses based on class, since some (such as Bards, Sorcerers, and Wizards) are more likely than others to gain a significant reputation than others (Barbarians, Druids, and Monks for instance), while other classes may gain a mediocre Reputation advancement. There's also a feat in D20 Modern that reduces Reputation by 3 points (for folks who want to be inconspicuous), and another feat that increases Reputation by 3 points (for folks who want to be recognized).

OGL Ancients given a Reputaion system based on wealth (bonus to the relavent skills based on how much you show off, or if they know you have it). Started at a +1 for total worth of 500. Increase to +2 at 1,000, +3 at 5,000, +4 at 10,000,and maxes out at +5 at 20,000 (gold isn't used in this setting). No reason the table can't be expanded. It follows a bsic pattern.

NOTE: slaves (one class received them automatically. Leadership with an amoral bent :]) counted as wealth.

EDIT: the system was based in Greece/Egypt, before the rise of the Roman Empire. The system was intended to be used with multiple cultures (they gave stats and modifiers for at least 6). Sounded like what you were after. :)

SW had a rep system based on level, if that's what you're looking for.
