Some idle gossip for a shallow nobleman to drop

You could use it to work in an old joke:

"I say, did you hear about Lord Fotheringham-Smythe? Seems he was caught in flagrante delicto with a camel."

Then, if the players ask if it was a boy camel or a girl camel, you say:

"Girl camel, of course, nothing queer about Fotheringham-Smythe."

-Lady Gottinden's new garden is divine.

If this is put forth by another NPC, the response could be...

"Oh yes...I've been in it many a time." grin, nudge nudge, "Ohhhhhhhhhh, you mean the one behind her summer palace...beg pardon!"

meanwhile, in other gossip...

"That pox that has been going around? The nethers-fire one? Yes...there is an old wise woman who lives near the Old City's Potter's Field. She can cure it...but it will cost you."

"Can you belieeeeeeeeeeeeve the hideous shoes the Duke is wearing? They look like he's been walking behind a plowhorse all day...and they say he paid a mason's monthly wages for them!"

"Mmm...mmmmm...mmmm! A fine, fine vintage we're being served tonight. Not so fine as in my cellar, of course, but when the host is just the son of a jumped-up merchant, what can you expect?"

What can one expeect? Pay workman's wages, get workman's shoes.

Oh, one that just occurred to me from re-reading the OP.

'Karza? Oh yes he dresses most frightfully. I mean frighteningly, what with all that black leather and plate mail. Wears elevated boots, ya know. Tiny fellow.'

I was wondering if anybody would catch the name...and no, there is no Baron Karza in the story I'm running, just tossed it out there as a name.

Had a Baron Karza action figure all the way back when. And his horse too. And his heroic nemesis, what was he called? Commander something? The Force Commander? And lots of other very cool Micronauts toys.

*sigh*

I loved me some Micronauts. I should never have given mine away. Nor my Legos or toy cars.

I WANT MY CHILDHOOD BACK!
