I done this a long while ago, inspired by an unknown rendering I found on google.
I used 3dsmax to model and render.
Let me know how it looks.

Looks pretty good! I tried my hand at 3d art a while back but never mastered it. Seems like you've had better luck then I did :)
 

i know this is not a 3d board but oh hell.
you used only max default and procedural textures (the dent map is uglyier than usual ;))
the model is not original it is just a few cylinders and an editible poly (or mesh as the case may be)
you do have potentail but to get good with 3d you have to spend a lot of time studying and practicing.
 

Well that was old, and yeah it was very basic, but turned out decent.

The gumby is much more recent, done a few months ago.
