I'm intending to add a number of permanents to the magic items I create and am curious if I'm pushing what they can do too far.
They're based on:
Self Maintenance
Universal Usage
Directory of Information
Self Maintenance would probably be these spells made permanent:
Wizard Level 0: Mend (To keep in good condition.)
Wizard Level 0: Repair Minor Damage (Would act like a constant version of the spell Fast Healing. (Pretty certain someone in my current party used this spell on myself or another.))
Cleric Level 2: Make Whole (Would act like the spell Regenerate, requiring acid or fire to destroy.)
Universal Usage would probably be these:
Wizard Level 1: Comprehend Languages (To understand when any user says their languages version of the trigger word.)
Wizard Level 2: Detect Thoughts (To understand when any user says their languages version of the trigger word. And/Or if the trigger can be changed to/also be a will roll.)
And Directory of Information would likely be this:
Wizard Level 1: Silent Image (To hold a list of the spells the item holds for review by the user upon using the trigger word/will roll. (Would be connect to either/both the permanent spells Comprehend Languages and/or Detect Thoughts.) (Might also be alterable without having to pay the original price every time an update is made.)
In addition to this I realized that a magic item with the spell Silent Image, if it had updatability, could be used as a journal, reference book, ...or spellbook.
What do you think of these spell combinations and their potential uses?
