Something familiar to ride?

From experience ... allowing a druid to have a wolverine animal companion, and allowing the druid to them make the wolverine his familiar when he multi-classes into sorcerer, is a bad idea.

Though in hind sight, I should have seen that coming.

I have a Gnome wizard who rides a Hell Hound familiar he obtained through the Complete Warrior version of the Improved Familiar feat. It works pretty well. It has a pretty good AC with chain barding and shared spells, and the improved mobility is a life saver. It once avoided a lethal blow through a timely action point spent on a ride check.
