Boy, I'm glad I don't follow that rule, or I'd have missed out on a lot of stuff, like James White's Sector General series, one of my all time favorite reads. One cover (presumably an illustration of Sector General station itself), looks like an art deco representation of spaghetti thrown against a wall.
That artist for that Mercedes Lackey book looks like the same incompetent hack who did several of the Wildcards books several years back. Glad they replaced him with art from Timothy Truman, instead.
