Soneillon. Part 1 (Updated 6/15)

Remembering that this was played a few months ago, I'd say WOW.

Sep, I too would be interested in reading what you plan to do when 3.5e comes out.

Impressions:

- Mostin's probably used most of his daily spells now. And they are a week Wyre-time from being able to charge him up again. Who knows what Hullu and Melancholy will get up to in that time?
- Nwm's going to want to squish Threxu as soon as he meets her. And be damned to the diplomatic consequences. We're talking return of Nwm the army-devastator here.
- Soneillon is a Dreamer. Given what we've see Jovol do, I think that merits an 'Uh-oh'.
- Mostin now has (guessing) a Cubic Gate. Uh-oh, again. Brace youselves, rest of the cosmos...

I love this story hour, I really do.

Laaaaaaaaaaadieeeeeeeeessssssss and gentlemeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!!!!!!!!

Winner, and STILL CHAMPION of story hour!

SEPULCHRAVE ... II !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<unending crowd roar>

Everytime I stop in to read this story hour, it's like opening a heretofore undiscovered and particularly dionysian vintage, and getting knocked out from the fumes (or bouquet, if you prefer) alone.

So, I'd raise a glass, if I weren't so flabbergasted.

Here's to you and yours.

Anyone else think that Irknaan might be a little worried after Mostin decimated his minions. After all, he watched the whole thing happen.

Great update Sep!

Cheers!

Indeed, I think Irknaan's optimistic scenario (remembering that Mostin is the only character whose capabilities he has witnessed) is this:

-Mostin is really in charge and was using Ortwin--"Prince Rhaz" as a decoy to keep attention away from him; Ortwin and the others are his lackeys and are of varying but lesser power.

The pessimistic scenario is this:

-Ortwin is exactly something like what he says he is and is furthermore able to keep a demon of Mostin's obvious power in line. (Which, to someone who judges relations purely in terms of power would mean that Ortwin is of incredible power himself).

The scenario he probably won't consider unless someone tells him about the real identities (and the person who knows and he's asking for help apparently sees an opportunity to strike at Grazz't through Eadric, et al, so she might mislead him):

-They're a group of more or less coequal individuals with a grudge against one of his patrons.

Remember that Mostin, Ortwin and the whole group were Mind Blanked through the entire scene. Sep actually mentions that Irknaan could scry their location, but not them. So all Irknaan knows is that *someone* in the group turned his retainers into dust, paste, statues, flounders and gibbering idiots. He has no idea it was Mostin.

Mind you, its quite possible that he *realised* they were Mind Blanked, and dispatched a single Sidhe on a griffon with Eyes of the Eagle to monitor the whole thing from a distance, but this seems a bit, well, prosaic for an umbral demonic Faerie, don't you think?

I assume Mind Blank blocks voices as well. Otherwise, he heard the conversation they had afterwords and much of the jig is up.

But, even if he had a guy with Eagle Eyes, he wouldn't have seen much. Suddenly everyone's alive and then they're not. After that, the demon slams the remaining group and they shackle the last evil girl standing. Finally, they talked and, possibly, argued.

Ouch!

The best part is that they still don't exactly know what to do on the plane. Annoy Grazzt, but how ? Mostin's solution isn't much subtle, but it may work...

Although I thought you could only affect yourself with spells during a time stop...

Just imagine Irknaan scrying this party and within the blink of an (wyrish) eye, his whole invitation company turns to dust, stone and madness.
