Songblade's for bards

Yeah, I know it's a bit early to be doing this but I'm not a very patient person :)

About the only thing that bugs me about the bard so far is the whole wand as an implement thing. I've heard about songblades coming but if they're anything like pactblades, then I won't be terribly enthused by them.

So I thought up a new class feature for bards. I'd probably replace the skill bonus to untrained skills since it's not exactly a breadwinner.

Songblade
A true bard can turn any weapon into a songblade. The process is a ritual that the bard learns for free at the beginning of his career. This blade acts as an implement for the purposes of casting his spells. Any magical bonuses to hit and damage for the weapon then become bonuses to hit and damage for his spells as well.

The ritual follows the rules of the “Enchant Magical Item” ritual with the exception that it can only be used to make a songblade and is considered a 1st-level ritual.

A bard begins his career with one non-magical songblade already enchanted.

Songblades? Peh.

Songbows
These are enchanted bows with a few extra strings on them so you can use them like harps. They play magical chords when you shoot arrows from them.

Heavy-Metal Axe
This is a special guitar that can be used for the more intimidating bards. If you can't make a man's head explode with your planet-destroying riffs, you can always just chop his head off.
