Sorceress Feat/Spell selection

First Post
Hi there!

Maybe you can help me out with some inspiration. :)

Below is a new character I have made and I'm still looking for a nice feat (and maybe some fluffy spell ideas).

Instead of Summon Monster III, I also thought about Dispel Magic, Fly or Slow.

Feats... so far I considered one of Craft Wondrous Item, Craft Wand, Scribe Scroll, or Spell Penetration, Improved Initiative, or Leadership. Maybe you got some other ideas, which would fit nicely. :)

Wei Ling, the Jade Sorceress
Human Sorceress 6th Level
NG - Patron Deity Mystra
Home Region - Shou Expatriate (Unapproachable East / Player's Guide to Faerûn)

Str 9 -1
Dex 14 +2
Con 14 +2
Int 14 +2
Wis 8 -1
Cha 18(20) +4(+5)

Hit Points 32
AC 17
Init +2
BAB +3
Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +6

medium-sized, 5'4", 107 lb., 22 yrs old
black hair, dark brown eyes, yellowish skin

-Skills-
+12 Bluff (9)
+11 Concentration (9)
+ 5 Craft: calligraphy (3)
+ 5 Craft: jewelry (3)
+ 5 Craft: tailoring (3)
+11 Knowledge: arcana (9)
+11 Spellcraft (9)

Speaks Common, Shou, Draconic and Abyssal.

-Feats-
Spell Thematics: Jade
Iron Will
Silent Spell
...

Note: With Spell Thematics (Player's Guide to Faerûn) all spells share a common theme (Jade-colored display). Due to the exotic nature, spells are harder to discern via Spellcraft (+4 to DC to identify them). Also one spell per spell level can be selected, that spell is cast at +1 caster level.

-Human Traits-
1 extra feat at 1st level
4 extra skill points at 1st level and 1 extra skill point at each additional level

-Sorcerer Abilities-
Summon Familiar (Wu Ya, the raven)

-Spells Per Day- (6/7/6/4)
0th- Detect Poison, Detect Magic, Read Magic, Light, Mending, Message, Prestidigitation;
1st- Shield, Magic Missile (+1), Ray of Enfeeblement, Unseen Servant
2nd- Scorching Ray (+1), Invisibilty
3rd- Summon Monster III

Note: (+1) denotes spells that are cast at +1 caster level due to Spell Thematics. 3rd level not selected yet.

-Equipment-
+1 Twilight Black Mithril Chain Shirt 5,100 gp
Jade Brooch of Charisma +2 4,000 gp
Sash of Disguise 1,800 gp
Heward's Handy Haversack 2,000 gp
Traveler's Outfit
Bedroll
Scroll Case
Belt Pouch
Waterskin
Spell Component Pouch (2)
Tindertwigs (6)
130gp, 9sp

Note: The Twilight armor enchantment reduces arcane spell failure chance by 10% (down to 0%).

Note: Description and Background dropped (because it is written in german).

Do post the background and description for those who know German. :)

Have you considered Improved Counterspell, with the otpion of Reactive Counterspell? Thinking of the defensive capabilities they attribute to jade in Rokugan.

Can you take stuff from Rokugan or OA? There might be some stuff in there.

IMO, it's not very useful for a sorcerer to take item creation feats, since they know so few spells...

If you're thiking of taking a few more ray spells, perhaps point blank shot or weapon focus (ray)... Leadership is always a good option for a high-charisma character. Don't know if you have access to them, but Sudden Metamagic feats (from the Miniature's Handbook) are particularly potent for a sorcerer... Sudden Empowered/Maximized Ray of Enfeeblement or Scorching Ray for example...

KaeYoss - and then every second reply is asking for a translation... :p

Hmm... I might take a look into OA, maybe I find something suitable there.

About Sudden Metamagic. I really don't know what to think about those feats. Being able to use them only once per day is a severe limit.

Hmm... could have a Pseudodragon as a cohort. :D

BTW, what happens if a cohort dies, if the character wasn't involved in the death... do you still get the -2 cumulative penalty?

German, German, German... ;)

Lucy Liu? Eyes of Fury feat from the KPG. Later take Fearsome Appearance against these pesky AoOs :D

I'd consider not taking iron will - your will save is naturally going to be better than your other saves very soon in any case, and most people will be loathe to use will-targeting spells on a spellcaster - it's simple tactics. The other save boosting feats would probably be better choices.

Sudden metamagics are OK, but perhaps not the best for a sorceror. No matter what anyone says about full-round-action casting, being able to slap on spontaeneous metamagic is really powerful, powerful enough to just get the normal metamagics.

Erm, yes, that's right, but Iron Will is a prerequisite for the Incantatrix PrC. :D

Yeah, I prefer the normal ones, and Sudden Quicken is impossible to take, anyways (those prerequisites are insane).
