So, I picked up Age of Sigmar: Soulbound "Champions of Death" last week and spent a good chunk of time devouring the text like a flesh-eater ghoul. I absolutely recommend picking it up. However, I did spot some kookiness.
Firstly, the Crypt Infernal Courtier receives a bone club and a standard to carry into battle. This is particularly interesting given the fact that THEY HAVE NO HANDS. Not only is this clearly evident from the picture right next to the text, but also on the actual miniatures themselves if you happen to play Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. It’s just odd this wasn’t automatically spotted.
Second, the Black Knight gets a choice of a spear and shield or the obvious pick of a sweet Deathlance. The problem is that I don’t think a jousting-like weapon can be used when unmounted (it would be awkward at best) and the archetype doesn’t grant a side arm. They don’t even start with money to buy one. So, it seems Black Knights have to ride around until they find someone with a sword, charge them to death, then take the weapon from their cold, dead hands. Fun, but a bit inconvenient.
Also, I wish they’d just come out with a Foundry VTT port like they did with WFRP 4e. I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
