Sovereign Stone D20 Question

I recently purchased the Sovereign Stone D20 books (Compendium, Bestiary, Codex Mysteria and Taan) and really liked it so far (looked at the charactercreation and thumbed through the rest).

But what concerns me is that the Codex Mysteria (the Magic Book) have some Prestige Classes that seems VERY strong. They did a really good job in balancing the standard classes in the Compendium, but in the Magic book is for Example a Warrior Mage Prestige Class that give you Fighter BAB, d8 Hit Points, many feats and a spell progression +1/lvl.

So the question is: Is there something that balance this out or is it REALLY so powerfull?

Have FUN!

Prestige Classes, by their very nature, are meant to expand upon a character's abilities in ways above and beyond their normal "classes," particularly for NPCs. Now, I will admit, quite candidly, that the War Mage is uber-unbalanced, when I started working with Sovereign Press, I actually had to completely redesign it so it would end up a bit more balanced...too late for the Codex, but the newly revamped "battle-magi" is in one of our upcoming sourcebooks. The other prestige classes are more balanced, and when you do look at some of the requirements (Skill Focus-Concentration + 10 ranks in Concentration & Knowledge Nature for Hallowed Earth Cultist, permanently sacrificing 2 Constitution points as a Death Mage, 10 ranks in Knowledge Arcane & Knowledge Nature, plus +3 Spellcasting bonus in all four elemental magics to become an Element Master) they're not quite so easy to get as one would think. However, they do porovide compensation for the stringent requirements.

Game On!

I just use the War Mage for NPCs, FWIW. Since it's got fairly stringent requirements anyway.

If you want a variant that may be more playable by PCs, and if you're planning on picking up more d20 stuff, there is always the battle-magi in our forthcoming Old Vinnengael d20. It's a bit more streamlined, with a bit more flair, and more of an eye towards maintaining a certain balance between the spell-casting and warrior aspects of the prestige class.
