Kromore 2145 Roleplaying Game is a table top adventure experience brought to you by Raex Games in a 300+ color hardcover game book. Kromore 2145 offers a custom well tested game system in a dynamically interesting universe with wavering political politics, social agendas, a wide array of villains and allies, and plenty of fascinating and interesting places to explore.


We will be giving all backers of $20.00 or more an exclusive play test within 30 days of this kick starters end date. The $20.00 also gives access to the final PDF when the game is released which is a huge savings from its regular price. THE SETTING:

Kromore is a planet far from Earth where steam powered technology is being pushed aside for the advancement of a new nuclear steam technology. The change poses a threat to the traditional steam Victorian ideal of many on the planet not only technologically, but socially and politically.
The advancement is spear headed by the Kalin Parliamentary Order who hope to unify the planet and surrounding galaxy in an era of scientific change and progress. The cost of change: All nations must register identification papers for every citizen, denounce magic, and join the Order. Conforming to the rules and laws has left Kromore divided.


Weaker nations, the Ferrian tribal nations, pirates, and users of Sci-Magic are striking back against the K.P.O. Those who have taken up the banner against the Order are called...Steam Rebels.

Maven: The City of Steam

In addition to feuding between nations, the use of Sci-Magic (ripping realm energy from other realms) has become a common practice by the underground sci-magi and sci-priest's on Kromore. The Order has banned the use of magic for a good reason as the magical art can leave behind tears in the fabric of the realms. Demon hunters who can see the realm energy know what lurks in the shadows beyond the realm of reality and it scares them more than a planetary civil war.

THE SYSTEM:

The RAEX combat system offers a uniquely dynamic and exciting strategy filled rules-set. The game works off of a 3 action turn for players where they can utilize their 3 actions any way they need. Nearly every ability (out of the hundreds available) requires 1, 2, or 3 action points to use including attacks with weapons which use 1 action for fast weapons and 2 for heavy more devastating attacks.

There is no role to hit on attacks and instead the combat assumes every attack is intended to hit the target. Defense calculates how deadly this attack will be as players can layer armor on their characters or use actions to parry or seek defensive stances. Dodge, parry, shield, outer armors, and inner armors will reduce an attack leaving any additional damage to deal to a characters Life Points.

The strategy comes in as your armor, which uses damage reduction, takes damage and eventually breaks leaving your character more vulnerable to attacks. Fast 1 action attacks that don't effectively slice into life points will break down armor quickly and leave a target open to an easy death stroke where big attacks may deal a lot of damage and possible wound life points, but they are harder to perform and eat up lots of actions. Not only does combat now tell a story it also involves strategy and decision making on the fly. Role playing should never end the second initiative is rolled and with the Raex system it encourages creative character tactics and decisions.

All of this combined with customizable weapons, gear, sidekicks, vehicles, and your profession build makes for unique and diverse characters. To top this all off the system is very easy to learn and moves quickly once you start playing. Making 1 roll to attack a target instead of rolling to hit then rolling damage speeds up game play as characters acting on initiatives are constantly propelling the game play. Defending characters are left with decisions to make as armor is worn down and defenses are broken.
