Most people buying the book won't be going to WotC's website, so it's unfair to them. I like sample characters a lot. The glut of Prestige Classes with no point of reference to show them "in action" just seems boring to me.

Why wouldn't people go to WOTC's website, especially if they learned that there's great WEs there? I mean, virtually everybody has access to a computer somehow, right?

Is it so much trouble to go dl a 10 page .pdf of sample characters for the PrCs and perhaps print it off too?

Well, in an attempt to see what percentage of people have internet access, I'll start a poll here on EnWorld.

Moreover, not everyone wants to go out of their way to get/download stuff. If they buy the book, they expect the complete package.

Lots of casual gamers just buy a few books and play really quick-and-loose games. The website is for, mostly, the non-casual gamer, or someone who has a bit more investment in the game.

Gaaah! People are too picky [myself included, I admit]. Some people want example NPCs, others don't, and apparently an option to fulfill both positions fails. I hate people.
