Shadow Games

Bitter enemies Spartacus and Crixus are charged with learning to fight as a team in order to take on an unbeaten champion in the arena. Meanwhile, a financially strapped Batiatus receives an opportunity of a lifetime that involved his battling band of gladiators.

Perhaps not as good as episode 04, Shadow Games puts Crixus and Spartacus having to co-operate in a duel to the death with an Albino giant in the arena of Capua.

Their opponent is deemed so powerful that matching him up against Crixus only would not be a fair fight.

A good climax to the primus and an increasingly interesting subplot continues to build up with Selonius as the villainous editor.

For those who know the historical tale of Spartacus' revolt, you'll also know that Crixus was the other Gladiator-general of the Capua slave army near Pompeii. It's just too early in this tale to kill Crixus.

For all that - a great fight. Who gets the experience points? My players would be fighting over that one for a while

Definitely a shared xp moment.

I felt like the DM sometimes, almost saying out loud, "Guys, work together for a change!"

I'm definitely still quite enjoying the show.
