Intent can be dangerous, depending on how its presented. As long as rules are presented on a "strict" or "lawyer-like" interprietation, it allows individual DMs to make informed decisions on how to run their games, depending on their style, at least in my view. I kind of like the atmosphere here, since usually I can get the letter of the rules then change them to suit my game knowing full well when I am and when I am not using RAW.

Reminds me of Hermes from Futurama when he was "technically correct, the best kind of correct."
