Special Edition Player's Handbook - Got it?

Okay this just ticks me off to no end. Errata!? We've been asking about that for months and respected developers have assured us that this book would be identical to the 3.5 release. I specifically decided not to buy it because it wasn't corrected. Now it has the errata all of a sudden? Too late... I haven't budgeted for this book now, so I won't be able to get it.

Don't get ticked off yet about the errata. Has anyone actually seen any official word on this? Last I knew, no errata.

Just checked the WotC site. OOOPS.
Since 2004 is the 30th anniversary of the Dungeons & Dragons game, Wizards of the Coast, Inc. is commemorating this milestone with a beautiful, special edition of the Player's Handbook. Created with the collector in mind, this special release now sports an embossed, leatherbound cover and premium, gilt-edged paper, along with beautifully designed endpapers. The text contains errata, so you can use your Special Edition Player's Handbook at the game table as well as display it as a wonderful showpiece.

The WotC webpage says it will have errata. Andy Collins on his message boards origionally said no errata. He has more recently said he was wrong about that. According to Andy the demand for errata was so strong that they did update the book even though they had origionally not planned on doing so.

Don't get me wrong, its fantastic that they listened to the complaints and were willing to make the changes needed... I just wish I woulda known sooner. As it stands I've made comitments that will minimize (if not completely devour) my role playing budget for a while.

Yeah, World's Largest Dungeon kinda does that to a budget... :)
